Posted @withregram • @queerbotany This February, Chelsea Physic Garden will partner with Queer Botany for a second year running, to look at plants through a queer lens in celebration of LGBTQ+ History Month.

The celebration forms a part of Chelsea Physic Garden’s 350 year anniversary, using its past to create a vision for its future.

‘A Dash of Lavender’ will celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month with trails, workshops and talks which highlight the important role, members of the community have played in horticulture, as well as exploring sexuality and gender through plants.

Here are some photos of the map that will be given out at the front desk for free with ticketed entry. Using the map you can go on a self-guided tour of the Garden. Tickets are £10.50 and the Garden opens from 11am–4pm Sunday–Friday.

Today Crisp Street Delivers @zedifyldn begin distributing our Tower Hamlets guide designed by founding member @robryanstudio!

This photograph of Rob and his team was taken by @patricianiven ten years ago for @thegentleauthor as his founder's portrait.

For the first time in six years of creating maps, this new guide includes the Bengali language. The Guild was supported by the Bengali East End Heritage Society and the London Bangla Press Club with the translation. @aldgatepress has taken care of the printing and folding. Our extra special 10th-year anniversary guide was made possible by @towerhamletsnow and CBG Law.

The Guide features Rob’s poetry on the cover; “These streets they all join up, they don’t just go nowhere. They were made to bring people together – not keep them apart.”

A very special issue compiled by guest editor @rosy.head in a one-off larger A5 format and printed entirely in green 💚💚

The front cover is the title of the treatise of 1856 by Eunice Newton Foote who first established that pumping CO2 into the atmosphere would warm the planet. Being a woman she was not allowed to present her groundbreaking findings to her peers and the treatise was read out by a male colleague.

The back cover has the timely quote by contemporary environmental campaigner Greta Thunberg.

Inside c55 extracts from the key environmental texts of the last two hundred years. Essential reading.
